07.01.07 - Scouting is Magic! - The Launch Party
Around 800 people joined in the fun at the Scouting is Magic launch party at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre (AECC), making it one of the largest events in Aberdeen Area's recent history.
Over half of the Scout membership in Aberdeen came along to the party to kick off the Centenary celebrations.
The AECC was packed with balloons, bouncy castles, climbing walls, plate spinning, face painting and even a bucking bronco!
One of the highlights of the afternoon was Mike Winn, AAC Scouts, nearly getting his head cut off by the magicians' guillotine as part of their fantastic magic show!
Other highlights included a visit from Dodgem the Dog to present the prizes for the poster competition, a round up of the year's Centenary events and some dancing led by Village Idiots.
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network, Fellowship and Leaders were all encouraged to bring a friend to the party so they could see for themselves what Scouting is all about.
Several friends who came along to the party are keen to join which is great news!
